Overview
In-house agencies have been my bread and butter for a good stretch of my career. I've launched several of them, including at Verizon, building branding for both internal and external communications, from newsletters and presentations to email and web. So when Comcast brought me in to create the brand for Good Kid, their new in-house agency, it was familiar territory with a fresh challenge.
I partnered with the executive creative director as design director and lead designer, defining what Good Kid's communications would look like from the inside out. That meant the brand identity and logos, social icons and social presence, letterheads, email designs, and signatures, plus a big piece of the puzzle: presentation design and how the team communicated internally. Once that infrastructure was in place, I stayed on to protect the quality of everything built within it, and to design for the executive and creative teams whenever they pitched new work or the ECD needed a keynote for internal audiences.
The creative direction was minimal, built on yellow, black, orange, and green, with an internal culture that felt urban and unmistakably New York. We took our cue from the name itself, Good Kid, and leaned into the idea of a school play. The real challenge, especially in pitch presentations, was landing somewhere between corporate and playful. We got there through an editorial approach, deliberately untraditional, and you'll see that thread running through everything in this portfolio.
Integrity, creativity, and empathy shape the way we work.
